I'm thinking of making a public domain collectible card game that can be a group project similar to Dvorak: http://www.dvorakgame.co.uk/
This could become a community project where everyone is invited to join.
Right now I think it might be a good idea to use the following rules:
1. 0 Cards in hand = You lose.
2. Your creatures can attack other creatures, artifacts, or lands.
3. You can play a spell during your turn and during the opponents turn. (This allows counterspells.)
4. There are things (permanents) and actions (events).
I want almost everything to be secondary to discard. No matter what you do that would ordinarily be super powerful (such as mindslaver), it shouldn't make a huge difference. This is because the game is about getting the opponent to 0 cards, but this should be difficult in order to make the games long enough to be interesting.
It might be a good idea to make this like a collectible card game by having various strategies and synergies/combos.
